What a wonderful site!!! I am looking for info about Bud Ketterer who raced a Buick Skylark at the Old Louisville Speedway in the late 70s and early 80s... This car raced in the stock category and usually came in second behind a guy named Darrel... Any info or pics about Bud or his race car are welcome!

My Dad, Tennesee, or James Fentress was a drag racer from the 60's. I remember well the Bullitt County Dragstrip. I remember the opening of Ohio Valley, remember being there every Saturday night for years. Among some of the top racers there at the time,Fentress and Miesner in the Louisville Belle, Lyde Wagers, Jesse Campbell, Clyde Williams, Wendell Hawkins, Irvin Johns and many others. Also remember Bluegrass Dragstrip, Beech Bend, Us 60 Dragway. What a great bunch of history with these guys and Strips! Thanks for this website honoring these men and the passion of this sport!

Great site. My father, Joe Woods, raced on dirt tracks in Central Kentucky back in the 60's. "Butterball" is a name regularly mentioned in some of his stories. From what I've been told over the years my dad was quite the racer and won lots of races in his day. If anyone has anything old memorabilia where he is mentioned or remember him I would love to hear your story. I will try to send in a pic of him in one of his winning "hot rods" as he called them. Dad still lives in Garrard County. I can be contacted at 91lions@gmail.com

Great website guys, keep up the great job your doing. I was at the Ohio Valley, Harrison Co, and Hardinsburg for many years as one of the announcers. Sometimes I really miss the racers and the weekly programs. Look forward to attending the reunion on July 2nd.

I think things are looking better everyday. You do a good job, Bridgette. I'm looking foward to our next meeting so we can discuss our program and our State's Hall of Fame Ceremony. It will be a great day in May when we all come together to celebrate Motor Sports in Kentucky
